For us, sustainability is about making more conscious decisions – both as a store and a consumer.
We want to encourage the purchase of products that serve a clear function and can be used for a long time.
Our work
Nordburen is a growing company and our sustainability work is continuously evolving.
Among other things, we are working to:
- select products with clear material information
- curate a more focused and useful assortment
- avoid unnecessarily large product selections
- improve information on materials and care
- prioritize suppliers within Europe when possible
- reduce unnecessary use of packaging materials where we can influence it
Material and supplier information
Information on recycled materials, certifications, country of manufacture, or other sustainability features is published only when we have received such information from the brand or supplier.
We want to avoid sweeping environmental claims and instead strive to be clear about what we actually know about each product.
Extended use
A product's lifespan is affected by how it is used, loaded, stored, and maintained.
By choosing the right product for the need and following recommended care instructions, the product can often be used longer.
An ongoing effort
We are not finished and do not claim that all products in our assortment are sustainable in all respects.
Our goal is to gradually improve product selection, information, and the choices we can influence.
